Have you ever had the experience, where you hear about someone you went to school with, not someone you were real close to, but come to find out just how very successful they have become? Do you ever wonder, Gosh, we went to the same school, did any of those smarts rub off on me? Do you ever stop to think, "Hmm, in the last bleep years since I've seen this person, what have I done with my life"?
So here I am, nearly 10:00 pm last night, replaying the last 10ish or so years in my mind, trying to mentally check off the things I have always wanted to accomplish. (In all honesty, I went to bed out of sheer exhaustion from trying to rack the brain and determined to be more of a goal getter)!
Let's see, career wise it's always been, working for the man. Getting paid okay, and putting in my hours. Please do not read this as a whine, ok, ok, I re-read it and can see where you can call it that. But although I am happy with the money I have at pay day I am in a job that does not stimulate or sustain me. I have not held a job that I am truly passionate about. I have been living my life in a, "when I get older I hope to do this" sorta way.
When I sat back and realized where I am is not truly (I'm talking career wise) where I want to be, I know now that there are things I really need to do to be happy. I'm not talking big money either, it has never been my goal (I love Goodwill to much for that)! So I thought long about what I really love and these are the things that came to mind. Writing, being home, animals, decorating, repurposing household items, human history (people who've come before us, how they lived, what issues they faced). How would this relate to a carreer? I have no idea!
So, let me ask you, up until now, are you satisifed with how your lives have led? Granted there are things in our lives we cannot control, but I'm talking the things we can. What are your proudest accomplishments? What can you check off you bucket list?
